Sis is Pregnant

Met up with my sister and brother and their spouses for an outing; She is staying in Klang and naturally we had bah-kut-teh for lunch. Everyone in Klang eats bah-kut-teh like 3 times a week, it's a Klang thing. Anyway, we went to the London Royal Circus while we were there; it's a first for Ryan and me, going to a circus and it was fun!!.

Thereafter, we adjourned to Teluk Gong, somewhere near Klang, famous for seafood, for dinner. Food was good and the price, reasonable.

Howevr, the most exciting thing was that my sister announced that she's currently 7 weeks pregnant, with her first child!! Yahoo ......I was so excited and insisted on taking a picture of her for my blog ...... Congratulations sis and enjoy your new journey to motherhood.

Hair, hair and more hair

Since I decided to maintain my hair long, I need a trim as it's getting out of shape. I love my hair; except for the fact that I don't have much (hair), it's very, very, very fine, it's a bit curly or wave-y so I did rebonding early this year and the biggest problem now is that it's dropping like mad. Because my hair is now longer, I think it dropping even more; hair in the living, dining, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom....practically everywhere in the house .... arrrghhh.

Got some professional advice. Since my scalp is of the oily type, my hairstylist mentioned that my current shampoo may be a "contributing factor" other than stress, wrong diet blah, blah and blah ....

Aarrggghhhh......will change the shampoo and use my hair tonic more often and let's see how it goes ..... the agony of being a woman...

Newly weds

I found an old notepad. It's an old "house hunting" notepad which I wrote details of houses we visited. I think at that point in time, we were about to tie the knot and were looking for a house. We wanted to rent first and to buy a property later. There were also copies of e-mails between me and hubby discussing about our financial situation, how much we earned, our expenses & commitments, deposit for house, wedding expenses, budget for honeymoon and last but not least, do we need any loan from his parents? You know, all the stuff newly weds will go through one time or another.

Anyway, we ended up staying in a house owned by my parent-in-law as the tenant was moving out (talk about good timing) for the next 5 years. We moved to our own property (current place) on 11 March 2006.

Looking at the notes seven years and 1 kid later, it brings back fond memories of how we start our married life together.

Cutie piggy

I love cute things and as I was born in the year of the pig (I'm chinese), my family tend to get me piggy items and over the year, my interest grow. So I just cannot resist this cutie piggy - I have 5 of these at home (in pink, gold, black, red and white) and another set of 5 on top of my computer - staring at me every day.

Threading

Just came back from facial. I got more than what I bargained for as not only I did my facial, she did threading to remove some facial hair and to shape my eyebrows ...... and it was painful !!! ... but I did look better after that ...... so bottomline, it was worth the pain.

Resolution - Research

There are so many, many articles from the net on how to look good.

For a start, I will watch what I'm eating; not so much on cutting down the portion of my food but more on eating the right and healthier food and in moderation.

Next, I will take good care of myself, both my appearance and my health. I will take the trouble to exercise and drink lots of water. Appearance wise, I will learn type of clothing which flatters me and the ones to avoid, bearing in mind that I am a pear shape (yeah, got that off the net as well - what type of cloth looks good in what type of body shape); colours and cutting that suits me; all I need to do is consult my friends and get their advice - for free!!

Also I need to take good care of my skin....that's a good excuse for me to go to my beautician cum friend often. And I have decided to leave my hair long - even though it's more troublesome to maintain but friends have told me that I look nicer and not so aunty-looking.

.......... and I am posting a photo of myself here. Have not master the art of taking my own photo using a mirror but this will do. And I weighed myself yesterday and decided to lose a kilo by the end of this month. Must have a target-mah. Something do-able to motivate myself.

And I just completed my exams this morning .... yahoo. Survived semester 1.

My resolution

I have been a plain jane for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I have never been into girly things, cute things yes but not girly stuff. I am sort of like a tomboy when I was growing up and I don't really fancy wearing dresses - maybe because dressess makes me look fatter. I dunno how to wear make up until today. I don't take the initiate to dress up and my cloths are mostly conservative, dull (mostly black and dark blue) working cloths. Casual cloths would mean a jeans and a t-shirt and the t-shirt would be at least 1 size bigger.

So I am not sure what got into me but now I want a change, in fact, I am going for a total and PERMANENT makeover. I am inspired by all the blogs I have been reading and I too want to be hot mama and chick mum. :)

First thing first ....In order to be a hot and chick mummy, I need to look like one and the problem is currently, not only I am lacking in the girly skill, I am also overweight (according to my BMI). But that is not going to stop me ...... I am going to work towards being a hot and chick mummy. I need a plan, a work-able and achieve-able plan. Will surf the net for more inspiration.
