I was doing some backup on all my photos and I came across the ones taken during our family trip to Great Ocean Road, Australia. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and hopefully, we can make more trip there.

A Short but Meaningful Holiday (19-21 Dec 2008)

We went for a short 3-day holiday in Genting and stayed at my company's apartment in Awana Genting. Although it was the only holiday for us for the year and it's just for a few days, IT WAS GREAT!!

We had fun, lots of fun with Aunt Jo, Freddy and Doris. It was also special as it was Caitlin's first trip and we also put her on the stroller for the first time. From the photos you can tell that she enjoyed it, being pushed around and seeing and be part of the activities around her. Ryan was too old for the rides and instead he was very much into one of the arcade game, Mushiking. I went into the casino and "donated" RM150.00 for 30 minutes of "fun". Better luck next time.

And I made full use of my new camera!!

Fond memories of Australia

Around this time last year, me and family (including my mother-in-law) were enjoying ourselves in Australia. At that point in time, Hubby was in between jobs and thought it would be a good opportunity for us to travel and we chose to visit my friend Eunice & family who had migrated to Melbourne a few years ago.

Eunice was a great host and she helped me plan the whole itinerary. We were there for 2 weeks (more or less) and we visited a lot of places. We explored Melbourne city and made a few trips to the outskirt. Among the memorable journeys were the one to Phillips Island (I love the Nobbies), the drive along the Great Ocean Road (fantastic views), gold mining in Ballarat and the nice drive along the hills at Dandenong.

One thing I noticed is that everyone in Australia loves the outdoor and there are plenty of parks around. My personal favourite is the visit to Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens and we took lots of photos. There were flowers everywhere and nice big exotic plants. The park is so huge and beautiful and the children enjoyed themselves running wild.

Yes, I have fond memories of Melbourne and hope to visit again.

Rest and Relax

When we were in Genting, we managed to take some nice shots of everyone and flowers. There are a few trees around the place we stayed, with red flowers dangling down from the soft branches and they are absolutely gorgeous!!

Ryan had a fun time there, running around, watching his DVDs (he manage to finish Scooby Doo the Movie – Part 2 and Evans Almighty). Unlike adult, kids do really know how to enjoy themselves and they are such free spirit. They do everything whole heartedly and you can feel the joy in their laughter. No worries in the world.

As we grow up and with more and more commitment and responsibilities, we forget to savor each moments as we tends to have a zillion and one things up on our head - work, deadlines etc; always trying to make sure everything is okay.

Looking at Ryan during the holidays, I can definitely learn a thing or two from him, there’s always tomorrow and we need to learn to enjoy each and every moment because it’s special.
